Privacy Policy

Obsesssed is a daily, social home-screen app. We built it to collect as little about you as possible. We don't run ads and we never sell your data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have.

What we collect

• Account identity. You sign in with Apple. We receive an Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share it, an Apple-relayed (private) email address. We never see your Apple password.
• Profile. The username and display name you pick, and an optional profile photo.
• Your obsesssions. The thing you post each day — a title, a category, and optionally a note, a link, or a photo.
• Friends. Friend requests and accepted friendships (so we can show you each other's obsesssions).
• Device token. A push notification token, only if you enable notifications, so we can alert you when a friend posts.

We do not collect your contacts, precise location, browsing history, or advertising identifiers.

How we use it

• To run the core feature: showing your obsesssions to your friends, and theirs to you.
• To send notifications you've opted into (a friend posted; an optional daily nudge).
• To keep the service safe — reviewing reported content and acting on it.

That's it. No advertising, no profiling, no selling or renting your data to anyone.

Who can see your obsesssions

Only your accepted friends. Visibility is enforced at the database level with row-level security, not just hidden in the app. People you haven't added can't see what you post.

Photos work the same way. They're kept in private storage, never on a public address, and shown through short-lived links that only you and your friends can request. Nothing you upload is left openly readable on the internet.

Service providers

• Supabase hosts our database, authentication, and private image storage.
• Apple provides Sign in with Apple, delivers push notifications (APNs), and processes any Obsesssed+ purchases through the App Store.
• Apple Music & The Movie Database (TMDB). When you post a song, film, or show, we send only that title to look up its cover art — never who you are.

Data is transmitted over TLS. We store only what each feature needs.

Purchases

Obsesssed+ is optional. If you subscribe or buy the lifetime option, Apple processes the payment through the App Store — we never see your card or billing details. We store only whether your account currently has Obsesssed+, so we can unlock the extras.

Retention & deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, obsesssions, photos, and friendships, and revokes your sign-in token. Deletion is immediate and cascading — there's no hidden copy waiting around.

Your choices

• Turn notifications on or off in Settings (and in iOS Settings).
• Block or report any user or post.
• Remove a profile photo or change your display name anytime.
• Delete your account and all associated data.

Children

Obsesssed is not directed to children under 13, and because it includes user-generated content it is intended for users 17 and older.

Changes

We'll update this page if our practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
